2ConnectU Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data 2ConnectU ("the app", "we") collects and how we use it.
This document is a functional starting point and does not replace the advice of a lawyer before publishing the app on the stores.
1. Data we collect
- Account: email and/or phone number, password (stored as a hash, never in plain text), date of birth (to verify the minimum age).
- Profile: display name, bio, profile photo, country, gender (optional).
- Content: chat messages, story photos/videos.
- Technical usage: connection status (online/offline), push notification token, IP address in server logs.
- Payments: handled by RevenueCat and the app stores (Apple/Google) — we do not process or store card data.
2. What we use this data for
- Operating chat, random matching ("Shuffle"), and stories.
- Verifying your identity and minimum age (18+).
- Moderating content and responding to abuse reports.
- Sending push notifications for new messages.
- Processing subscriptions and in-app purchases.
3. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share the minimum necessary with providers that operate the app on our behalf:
- Sightengine — automated image moderation.
- Twilio — SMS phone verification.
- RevenueCat and the app stores — subscription and payment management.
- Expo — push notification delivery.
Messaging infrastructure, database, and media storage run on our own server (no third-party services are used for these).
4. Retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. This permanently erases your profile,
messages, stories, and profile photo from our servers. Moderation reports involving your account are retained
anonymously as part of the moderation history.
5. Minors
2ConnectU is intended for people over 18 years of age. We do not allow minors to register and we remove accounts
we identify as such.
